BLACK HAWK – CHASE ON THE INDIAN OCEAN

This is the second episode of what could become a saga of Black Hawk’s adventures. Black Hawk, the venetian nobleman and privateer, sets out on a long journey towards Madagascar, after leaving the Antilles with his ship, crew and fiancée Eloisa. There he hopes to find a place to settle and begin a new life. But he doesn’t know that the British Admiralty, despite the favours he performed serving under their flag as a privateer, had decided to hang him, and sent a warship into the Indian Ocean to chase him. However, during a short rest on the coast of eastern Africa, something happens that obliges Black Hawk to change his plains. Eloisa is kidnapped by the crew of a ship belonging to the Mogul, reigning on India, and taken to Calcutta as a prisoner of the Viceroy of Bengala. The Mogul’s officer is handled by certain English people, who, thanks to the East India Company, are extending their sphere of influence to the Indian territory. As soon as the secretary of the East India Company discovers that Eloisa is Black Hawk’s fiancée, he tries to force her to collaborate, in order to set a trap for the privateer. Because of her brave refusal, he decides to cede her as a slave to the Vizier of Zanzibar. Black Hawk comes to the island of Sainte Marie, offshore from Madagascar – den of all pirates of the Indian Ocean – intending to find and rescue Eloisa, even though he doesn’t know exactly where she was taken. With this set purpose he sails towards the Indian coast with some loyal sailors. But a storm wrecks their vessel. Black Hawk and his faithful Powder Pete reach a small boondocks island in the Laccadives, while the rest of the crew, who remained on board, is carried somewhere else by strong winds and flow. Black Hawk and Powder Pete have no food and water, but when they are facing death, a mysterious Indian princess – who hates English people – rescues them. She will accept to join Black Hawk on his task.
